Logix Basics and Troubleshooting

The Logix Basics and Troubleshooting class is designed for those that need to connect to and troubleshoot a Rockwell Logix 5000 controller in an industrial environment. Electricians responsible for maintaining industrial equipment will gain knowledge of the various methods for connecting to a controller, monitoring data values, editing logic, configuring I/O modules, and using the cross-reference tool to locate the logic related to field devices.

Who Should Attend


Designed for students with little to no experience with Logix controllers, but some relay logic background. This class will teach the basics of connecting to, monitoring, editing and diagnosing Logix controllers using the ControlLogix PLC.

Hands-On Practice


Students will use a laptop to configure Logix controllers and perform troubleshooting techniques using Studio 5000 Logix Designer software. Approximately 2/3 of the class is lab.


Technology Requirements


All materials needed for this class will be supplied by Werner. Training workstation: laptop, ControlLogix, PanelView Plus. Student Manual.
