WERNER EXPANDS IN SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN

FUFILLMENT CENTER OPENED TO SERVE MEGA PROJECTS

(Appleton, WI) May 1, 2025--Werner Electric Supply, one of the largest electrical supply companies in the Midwest, is growing its footprint to serve an expanding customer base. The company has opened a 50,000 square foot fulfillment center located in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin. The firm is headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin where it maintains a 200,000-square-foot warehouse with 30,000 individual SKUs in components ranging from general electric supplies to networked electrical systems.

The expanded fulfillment center is focused on stocking electrical wire and providing custom wire cuts to construction and industrial customers in the southeast Wisconsin and northern Illinois markets. The center will stock an estimated 500 miles of wire stored on over 450 large spools ready for just in time delivery. The wire is available in a range of diameters and materials such as copper or aluminum, suited for a variety of uses.

“We specialize in large commercial and industrial projects and often those projects need vendors to turn materials around in a few days to prevent project delays,” said Fred Mauerman Vice President of Operations, Products & Services. “We are currently supplying material to multiple contractors on mega construction sites and will expand our services from this facility.”

Although cutting wire may sound simplistic, it is a crucial component to powering large data centers or industries that use a lot of power. Standard wire lengths are between 300-400 feet, but the facility has cut and delivered master spools holding 10,000 feet of wire.

“Our wire stock is used to distribute power from the utility grid into our customers’ buildings,” said Jason Spang, Construction Sales Director. “The wire has to handle high voltage, and our team can cable it in bundles to install in conduit before walls go up.”

Werner Electric will also warehouse supplies for customers out of the Mt. Pleasant center. Additional services include fabricating bundles of wire into pulling heads for easy measurement and use, and supplying large A-frames designed to hold massive reels of wire for eventual installation in conduit. The frames and bundling make wire installation faster and cleaner for on-site electricians.

“Much of the wire we supply is used in high tech applications so it’s critical it stays clean in a temperate environment and has minimal handling which is why we located this facility closer to many large developments,” Mauerman said. “The more we can store and deliver right away, the more we streamline logistics for our customers.”

Founded in 1948, Werner Electric Supply is headquartered in Appleton with 12 locations in Wisconsin and Michigan. From the 200,000-square-foot distribution center in Appleton, Wisconsin, the firm delivers electrical planning, engineering, design, automation, and installation across the Midwest. The distribution center is almost the size of three professional football fields and ships more than 100,000 products each month quickly and accurately.
